Juicy Dottato figs from Calabria are slowly baked to preserve them in a natural, traditional way. Fresh figs are picked from the tree when they are well matured, then dried. Later, after slowly baking them in their own juices, they are hand-shaped into balls and wrapped in fig leaves. The slow baking process brings out the rich, caramel flavours. Slice our delicious fig ball and serve pieces with ice cream, soft pecorino cheese, fresh ricotta or a wedge of provolone piccante.
